Experience first-hand hospital experience: observe ward rounds, patient/doctor consultation and even surgeries. You’ll have a general hospital overview as well as experience in specialized areas.
You don’t need previous medical experience, but be able to use initiative, have a willingness to learn and be prepared to be patient.
Help in a poor home/orphange for mentally retarded children. Help them with their lessons; there is plenty of time for interaction and play. You can possibly teach English to the staff or even help improve their communal living area.
The center is in desperate need of help and the staff is grateful to any volunteer willing to ease out their workload.
